Prestige - Frozen @ Boot Up

Post by Ilanchu »

I successfully activated Candy Factory, Disk Transfer, Fonts and magic lights(Did not change the OS - still SE 8.1)
After activating the above 4 programs I turned off the machine (Properly) and when I turned it back on a few minutes later It remains frozen, displaying on the TV (Monitor remains black) "CASABLANCA PRESTIGE" 16777216 and the Hour Glass Timer remains frozen.
I turned machine on and off (By pressing the on/off button) several times and unplugged it several times to no avail.
In addition I tried to boot it up with Keyboard and mouse unpluged but no change.

Please note that everything was working fine before I activated these 4 new programs.

Does anybody have any idea what happened and what I can do about it?

If Prestige has not booted (rather than has booted but blank display) it would seem that the o/s has become corrupted. You will need to use an o/s SmartMedia card to fix this with a full installation.

I inserted Smart Card with SE 9.1. TV screen displays "ZZZ System" and on monitor I was able to go through instalation up to the code which after entering license number I get message "Installation failed, the code was wrong" What should I do now? (Dealer says code is correct)

You are sure you had SE9 before? The dealer might have given you a number for a previous version if that is what was licensed to your machine. The only time "wrong number" appears is due to mis-typing, or wrong serial number being provided.... or of course trying to input a lic number from a different o/s version. I would check with your dealer first to make sure you gave him/he used the correct serial number and that you are loading the product for which license number he provided.

Thank you Martyn, you are being very helpful, I appreciate it.
Actually, I have V.8 on the drive and just purchased V.9 and entered the new license.
V.8 was uploaded last year from a disc, not a card. Should I get a Smart Card for V.8 and try again?

Hi Martyn,
Problem solved. You were right, my dealer gave me the wrong code. HD seems to be fine and all is cool.
Thank you sooooo much.
