Yes, it sounds like your issue is a burner going south.

The real problem is the outdated technology of the Avio requires a burner with the old IDE connectors and it must be a Pioneer of a vintage earlier than the model 17 if I remember correctly.

These are of course becoming more and more scarce as they stopped production of those models years ago now.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Thank you for everyones help. Yes, Tim you were right about a replacement burner. Soooooo, I decided that I would take the plunge and get a new machine. It will be able to acommadate the new HD footage that my nephews & neices now use and will last me for many years t come. I just hope there isn't a BIG learning curve switching to Bogart 4 from SE 3.6. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year.

If you have not already, now is the time to join Chet's Casablanca Expert website http://www.casablancaexpert.com/ The resources available to you will make the transition painless. from your AVIO to the new BOGART system.

There are times, I just need to refresh a procedure and the site is available 24/7. On Chet's site you can learn everything about Media Manager as well as Bogart. Chet also provides tutorial DVD's for purchase where you can follow along as he explains the interface.

Bonnie,

You will be comfortable with Bogart, it looks and acts very much like the Smart Edit GUI.

I do however recommend Chet's services that Lou mentioned.

He has tons of info on his site, including lots of video tutorials which can really get the information across so much easier than words.
