Hi All,
I filmed a chiropractor’s power point presentation and he gave me a disc with the power point presentation on it. I converted all of the slides into JPEGS and brought them into my S4000 via Photo Studio and Photo Transfer. I then used these JPEGS as inserts into my video. The words on the slides were very close to the edge on my 32 inch screen during editing, but not cut off. I then completed the project and gave it to the chiropractor and he noticed that the words were extremely cut off on the left and right sides of the screen. Can anyone help with what I can do to correct this? Do I need to resize the photos to a certain size to make them smaller or something? I would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks much,
Mike

Hello Mike,
You have a couple of options - if you are importing with Photo Studio 2 you could make the slides/images into a Collage which allows you to place the image onto a background which would give you a border to present a safe area for the text, etc. This would depend on the number of slides.
If you still have the PPT file an easier method would be to re-size the presentation - you can do this by launching the show in Power Point, going to 'Slide Show', 'Set Up Show', and on the bottom, you can either choose [Use Current Resolution] or whatever other resolution you wish. You can select a screen resolution more compatible with the video presentation. This will necessitate having to remake JPEGs of the slides but would ensure a better 'fit'.
Hope that helps!
Regards,
Chet

Thanks Chet!
I'll give the resize a try. Do you know if there is away I can record the power point presentation live on my dv-deck? I could then use it in quad cam with my other two camera angles.
Thank again,
Mike

You are welcome Mike.
To get the PPT show out to your DV deck, there are two issues I can think of.
1. Get the file out of your computer - if you're working with PowerPoint 2010 - you can save the Show out as a self contained video file - it will be a .WMV file. You could then load it into Windows Movie Maker, and export that out to your DV Deck. Or you could import that WMF file into your Casablanca via USB drive into the USB Record menu.
2. The trick would be matching the slides to go with your presenter - some would find it easier to match the slides as video inserts... depends on the presentation and the editor.
Hope that helps!

Thanks so much Chet!
I will try those ideas. I was just wondering if there was a way to record the power point presentation live via an output on the projector or computer. If I could do that then I could sync it up and use it in quad cam with my other camera angles.
