Good, but cheap DVD cases needed

Post by JohnKleban »

For anyone who does recitals, or who must deliver larger DVD quantities, can you forward a link to the DVD cases you use and/or where you get them from?

The DVD disc face will be printed on with a photo and text, so I really just want a simple case that is clear so this DVD face shows through; some kind of clamshell perhaps, or whatever...I rather not use paper sleeves and I don't plan on doing any box art other than letting the DVD show through.

Thanks again.

For cheap, you can use a CD jewel case. I like the jewel cases that are completely clear so that you don't see the black back of the case. Also, Polylinecorp.com has clear clamshell cases. This morning their website is down or I would have sent you the link. They are not as cheap as a jewel case.

John I used B&H http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ The ones I use are "TRIMpak CD/DVD Clear Cases (Pack of 200)". They are located on page 5 of their on line catalog in media. I have probably used 18 to 20 cases and I have had maybe 4 fail to close and they make those good. I have had a problem finding good cases since the flood thing in Japan. I used a local distributer till then and he has all but dried up. It may be the flood plus the economy I don't know. I hope this helps...

I have gotten the cheap cases you can get on line. They end up being junk. I use U-line for my cases they deliver in two days to my area. I use cdrom2go for the printable inserts. I use the laser printer inserts. Most of those cases you see for 25 dollars with free shipping are cheaply made and there are alot of throw aways.

I don't use the clear or milky clear cases because recordable media is susceptible to degredation from light. Even if I were to give clients written instructions, they could leave their DVD on a windowsill or near a strong source of light for a length of time which I believe would shorten the life of the disc. I use black cases, even for weddings, with an insert. I'm not sure if does anything for perceived value, but I don't think it hurts to have more substantial packaging. My .02

I use for, weddings, bar mitzvahs, graduations, anniversaries, recitals and many more occations from a company called
STARLITE VIDEO PRODUCTS. They have single and double album cases with beautiful printed fronts and will even include you company name and phone number on the bottom bckside.

They really impress the bride and groom and the family I send them to. I just print the DVD front and insert them into the album cases. I have been with the company for years.
They are located at www.starlitevideo.com, I usually call them on a the phone.

Since we are in the same city, I can e-mail you photo copies of their album. Send me your e-mail address, I have catalogues of their products.
