Silly question, but is the upgrade from 6.1 to 7 free? I tried to upgrade but nothing happens when I attemp it. I have followed the instructions, but no luck.

Hi Jeff yes to upgrade to SE7 there is a charge I believe it is like $99. You do not need to do a full install so you can still keep your projects. Hope that helps. PS it is worth it.

It is not free Jeff, but you can do an upgrade rather than a full, destructive install.
As far as "not doing anything" something was not done right as it should have gotten to the point of requiring the Activation Code.

I just called MS and they told me that the first time i install SE7 that it will be a complete install and i would loss all projects. Can anyone confirm this? From Lowell'sresponse, it sounds as though this is not the case.

I used the upgrade path to go from SE6 to SE7 on my Solitaire when SE7 first came out.
You can also check out the Quick Notes http://www.macrosystem.com/SE7/SE7-Quic ... enView.pdf which clearly state you can upgrade from SE 5 or SE6 to SE7, rather than do the full, destructive install route.
