Re: SD vs HDV Frame Grab

If one is a anti-light purist that believes a reception should be shot with "available" light, regardless of what is available and think grainy, washed out colors is the real deal then all HDV cams will be a step backwards from the VX2000/PD170 series.

However, I have always believed in using accessory lighting to actually get color at receptions and I use the exact same lights at receptions with my little HC1s (which are not the best low light HDV cams by any means, but they were cheap :D ) that I did for years with my VX2000s and think the low light issue is far overstated.

I am happier with my reception footage now than I was with my VX2000s, which is the bottom line to me.

I did recently add a couple of http://receptionlight.com/, but that was because I loved the idea of getting my lights up higher out of the direct "in your eyes" that on cam lighting gives.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
