Using a PRO HD monitor vs. a HDTV

Post by LouBruno »

I just purchased a new JVC PRO monitor. The model #DT-V20L1. . I now realize that a pro monitor is the proper way to edit in HDV rather than the VIZIO HDTV I just sold. This JVC also has pro features and 1080i as well as 720 P.

The monitor quality appears as if one is looking out a window. I use DVI in from my "S"4K for HDV and SD. The S-VHS input picture quality of these monitors is soft and poor but the DVI quality, even in SD is sharp and crisp. Of course, HDV is outstanding!!!

Lou--

What are we talking about as a price? My S4P is en route & I had planned on a 26" LCD (LG or SONY). Is your recommendation more expensive?
