I am having one heck of a time with some LCD monitors and my S-4000. I have looked at the other S-4000 posts and did not see this addressed.
First I tried a Samsung 2493 24" monitor. It will work in dvi 1280x720, but the monitor just flashes on and off when I have it set to dvi 1920x1080. I see a window on the screen that says that I should use 1920x1200. I even tried using the dvi to hdmi adapter cable and I get the same problem.
Next, I took a Dell E228WFP 22" monitor and ran it through the same test. 1280x720 is fine but the screen is just black at 1920x1080 with a little window that says that I need to have the signal set to 1680x1050.
So...am I stuck using VGA if I want a higher resolution? Anyone have any workarounds or tips?

Re: LCD Monitors Do Not Like My S-4000
Hello Brent,
From what I understand from your post - the issue rests with the monitor's ability to be able to play back the 1920x1080 resolution. You cannot get a monitor to play back a higher resolution that it is designed to do.
I do not know these monitors' specifics - you may be able to go into their owners manual or online to see if they are capable of doing so. If not, to access the higher resolution monitor choices on the S-4000/PRO (or any high performance editor) you would need to be connected to a monitor with that native capability.
For anyone else reading this thread - NOTE: you can still edit on the S-4000/PRO models in Standard video monitor output in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios as well as the VGA and DVI/HDMI settings at the higher resolutions.
Regards,
Chet

Re: LCD Monitors Do Not Like My S-4000
Thanks for the quick reply Chet. Do you know if they are going to add any other screen resolutions with any of the updates?
I'd also like to hear the experiences of other users. What monitors have worked and what have not worked. We are a school, so we can not run down to Best Buy and just get one off the shelf.
