Aspect is 16:9 but plays as 4:3 ???
I’m using Bogart 5.3 and trying to record a SD disc set at 16:9 and it plays at 16:9 but when I record it or import it to my S2k it plays back as 4:3… I have set the aspect on everything I can find to 16:9 but it still plays back as 4:3… Anybody know what’s up?

When setting up the project, are you also choosing the SD 720X480 16:9 option? When the file plays back in 4:3, is it in any way distorted? (stretched or flattened)

Yes I tried the SD 720X480 16:9 option and it did not help and yes the playback is stretched vertically.

It is stretched vertically because it has reverted back to a "anamorphic 4:3 file" (vertically stretched 4:3) to get it back to SD 16:9, you will need to use "CineConverter" in the "image processing" section of the editing window. Copy the stretched 4:3 file and make a split a few seconds long for testing.
(because I don't remember which application of CineConverter to use) Apply 4:3->16:9 or 16:9->4:3 to the test strip scene to see which one stretches it back out to 16:9 and use that "image process" to correct the the entire scene. There should be no letter box at the top and bottom of the processed scene. Just SD 16:9 image. This process will have to be done in a project that is designated as SD 720X480 16:9.
