If you "Create" in the "Finish" menu - you do this only for
  • DV out,
  • HDV out, or
  • File export
Arabesk has to render
  • a MPEG-2 stream for DVD or
  • a H.264/AVC stream for Blu-ray.
Arabesk is also not "dealing with the effects during encoding". This happens before the encoding begins. So you can spare the "create" part and just leave all the rendering to Arabesk. This way you can start the "burn" process in Arabesk and go to sleep. It will render the effects, render the DVD/BD stream and burn + verify the disc.

BTW...Casablanca DOES edit & expert successfully in Progressive mode. I have been shooting & editing 30p footage for the last several Bogart versions without any issue whatsoever.

We also do 30P without any problem,and 24p but now they recommend not to use PROGRESSIVE ? :o

Man something is not good .. :roll:

I have an hour video on You Tube using my GoPro 30p plus make DVD's. Never an issue

We shoot everything with HDSLR's.

I haven't been on this BB for awhile but for who is interested, I have been working with Progressive 30P (24P _does_ not work well) for the past 4 yrs with little or no issues.
Right now I am working with Bo 5.5c and it is ROCK SOLID !
