Having Fun

Post by jeffphilips »

Hi All,
I made a music video for my wife as a joke. She is a George Michael fan. In the video, I did my best to give myself a George Michael look. :D
It took over 9 months to gather the footage. There are shots from my hometown Annapolis Maryland, Denver, Toronto and France.
I premiered the video at a party. Everyone had a good laugh at my acting. Looking past that, they gave me good reviews for the video. 8-)

Jeff
Let me add my congratulations, you might have made it for a joke, but I think it is very professional and entertaining. Good use of effects, without going over the top.

Well done.

Thanks all for the comments. It really was fun to make! The hardest part was trying to memorize the words and getting the lip synch just right. :P

Very nice Jeff, very nice.

Was all your singing to the music in the background to attempt sync or did you do some of it a capella?

I would have love to see you singing to her during the beach scene at 1:27 that one line "something bout the way your hair falls...", but you were trying to keep this a secret from her, right?

Anyway, thanks for sharing, it's a piece to be proud to show.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

I have to agree with Lou, superb! I have seen paid work and I have produced paid work not near the quality of this piece. Says something for the power of love for your wife.

Wow, receiving such wonderful comments from people I respect, means so much! Thank you all! Maybe I should make more videos as joke.

Tim, yes, I agree about singing to her during that segment. But it was a surprise for her, as you mentioned. To get her on the beach to do what she did was hard enough to try and explain. I don't know what I could come up with if I started singing to her.
I did have a small earphone in my ear hooked up to an ipod playing the song as I mouthed the words during the carnival segments. In fact, you can see me adjusting it in the very last scene as I am walking off the bumper car floor. The other singing scenes, I was playing the song either on my car cd player or home player.

The power of love is amazing and inspirational!
