Opt/AVI export & import method

Post by HansJoachimKoenig »

Hi All,
do you know this simple and fast method for exporting scenes using USB-Sticks or ext. HDDs?
It works via "opt/AVI"
There are almost no render times. Export- or Import-Times are almost equal playing time.
I use this method sucessfully for 2 years by now in SD- or HD mode.
Exported scenes will play on WD-Player or PC.
In project menu make a scene of your storyboard
Down right click on "opt"
In options click on "Exporting scene"
In Export window click on "Export"
In "Exporting scene" click on your attached USB-Stick or ext. HDD
Now exporting window and progress bar appears
Just wait
That's it
Just try

I use AVI as well. But, some of our users hand over files to various TV Stations or clients that have issues with our AVI files as they are really a wrapper with MP-4 within... Issues with other editing softwares as well.

I LOVE that OPT button. I use it all the time and when I have a commercial client that needs certain specs I just take the file into a converting software program and give them just what they're needing. This way I keep the AVI in case of later add-ons or changes that need to be made.

Hey I am using opt button more frequent, since I export to a EXTERNAL HD or USB that they are in NTFS format,so there is NO LIMIT TIME comparing
to EXFAT or FAT32.so a tipical 45 minutes wedding will go complete export via OPT ;)

Bethklinger or Lou what do you select,HIGH or MAX option :?:

I'm sure this has been answered before but to clarify: how is the OPT button for exporting better/worse/different from just exporting storyboard? Exporting storyboard saves as mpeg. Exporting via OPT button (I think) saves as ts file? I tried OPT awhile back but ran into issues w/ playback.
