Increasing Resolution For JPEGS for PHOTOSTUDIO 2

The method is to increase size slowly (which works for all versions of photoshop & Photoshop elements);



Go to IMAGE>RESIZE>IMAGE SIZE

The IMAGE SIZE window pops up. At the bottom is a check box labeled RESAMPLE IMAGE – Uncheck the box

This will allow changing your resolution to NOT lose any information




Type into the field called RESOLUTION the pixels per inch that you want (I use 300 for printing)

You will see the image dimensions change when you do this because the number of pixels per inch has been changed.

Go back and check the box RESAMPLE IMAGE.

Go to the HEIGHT field area and change the units to percent by left clicking the drop-down arrow along side the word pixels.

Now type into the height field 110 (for 110%). Make sure the “Bicubic” is selected as the algorithm

Click OK and your image will be enlarged 110% with the resolution you have set.

Do this over and over until you obtain the size you want.

An easier method is to select the “Bicubic Smoother” algorithm and put the size you want in inches into the height field. This applies the 10% over and over automatically.

Use Bicubic Sharper to reduce image size.

Great stuff! I've been going into the image size option and increasing it from say 72 ppi to 120 or 200 ppi depending on the look. I never thought about resample.

Obviously, the best photo zooming option is the animation option in PS2 in my AVIO, but sometimes, I have to do a screen grab and then use the zoom under special. Will try your suggestion here.

Thanks... RESAMPLE is a little known secret. This function really works well if you have a small file that is SO small that it can't be read in PS2.
