HELP! Will This Work?
I have an issure with my machine and after talking with tech support one of the suggestions was to replace the ram. The stick that is in the machine is a 512mb DDR2-667. After calling around to several stores the only size I can get is a 1gb. Will this work in my machine or will I need the 512mb? Thanks Chuck

Try doing a Google or Amazon search for it, someone might have it. No sence paying for ram you can't use.

It was only $34.00 and if it will work I can get back to work. If it dosn't fix the problem I'm having it's easy to take back and get a refund. . Thanks Chuck

Many stores will not accept opened electronics packages for return. Be sure to ask ahead of time.

For a visual application like this, I would think the machine wouldn't have a problem with twice as much RAM capacity. I mean this is storage capacity, so I wonder how the machine would act with twice as much room. Should speed things up in there. See if tech support goes with it.

No, it would not speed things up.
VxWorks, the Operating System has specific limits of recognizable ram written into it's code and 1Gb is the limit for this platform.
Any additional ram amounts is worthless as the operating system simply will not recognize it.
It won't hurt anything, it simply won't recognize anything above the built in OS limit.
