Sorry mates, but so far there is no DVD-writer (Blu-ray writer)firmware update for S4000 systems available.
Pioneer developed a "special" Blu-ray writer firmware V7.07 for MacroSystem. This firmware has been designed to slow down the rotation speed of the DVD discs during playback (in the Media Manager for example). So watching DVDs will be more "enjoyable" because the drive is just silent.
This firware update is already available for our Enterprise systems. I think that it will be part of one of the next Bogart SE updates as well.
I am not sure if this update also increases the number of supported Blu-ray media.

Re: S4000 Pro
Tim,Firmware software is available for download on the MS site which also lists the current versions appropriate for your specific burner version which is also listed in Settings.
Where do we find this? I've been to both the US and German websites and found no listing for it. Thanks in advance.

Re: S4000 Pro
Good point Craig.
It appears MSUS has dropped it off it's website in the transfer process to a new server and new look.
It is on the German website, but only listed in the German download section and is left out of the English version probably to discourage overseas downloading.
Never the less, the actual URL for the current DVD Firmware Version 1.7 on the Germany website is http://www.macrosystem.de/downloads/C2DVDFW.iso

Hi Tim,
Although you are correct, of course, this firmware update looks as if it's only for the Pioneer non Blu Ray burners.
As Volker has kindly informed us the actual Blu Ray firmware update will be available shortly in a future Bogart release.

Re: S4000 Pro
Yes, it is Michael.
As others here have already stated there is not a firmware update available yet for the BluRay burners.
This is pretty common that the most recent burner version does not have an update for the simple reason as they have the most recent update by being new.
Per my comment, the firmware specifically lists the model versions that they are for.
Most BluRay compatibility issues are inherent in it being a relatively fledgling format that frankly, has been under supported to the point that it might become obsolete before ever becoming established.

Re: S4000 Pro
Hello,
Can I add a comment here........I have been having the same problem with my new S4000 Pro not recognising the write once Blu Ray discs.
Our tech man here in the UK uses Verbatim re-writeable Blu ray discs in his machine so I tried them and it worked fine. I then tried to copy the re-writeable in my computer system and it didn't recognise the write once discs.......the drive in my computer is the Pioneer BD 202 which is the exact same writer that fitted into the S4000 Pro! I don't know if it's the Pioneer writers that's fitted to machines over in the US or not though.
After checking Pioneer's website, the "latest" firmware for this drive/writer is version 1.7 which I proceeded to download and install onto my computer system (which currently had version 1.6 installed on it), once this was done, it burnt the write once disc with no hassles at all.....problem solved!
I checked the S4000 and it's firmware is only 1.4, so I guess here lies the problem!
I'll have to wait until MacroSystems get the firmware upgrade sent out before I can burn the write once discs in the S4000.
Neil.

Re: S4000 Pro
"How do I find out which firmware is currently installed on my system and how do I go about upgrading it?"
Hi Pringle,
You'll have to wait until Macro produce the appropriate 'new' firmware option for the BD burner - I'm sure this won't be long.
It's a slightly special one, as Volker has mentioned, for the S4000 etc.
