Many new updates available (PAL)

Hello,
many new software updates are available now (at least in PAL land).

And new updates for Bogart SE and Smart Edit 8 are also waiting to be released this week.

Some exiting news Volker!

I, particularly am thrilled about the new HD Back-up Bogart software for the S-4000/PRO products.

For those customers reading this in NTSC-land, please be aware this is a PAL release. We just received these products and our testing team has already begun ensuring they are also clear for implementation 'over here'.

We'll keep you posted for sure

These updates for Bogart are coming so fast and there's so many of them that it would be nice to have a "daily" update section on the forum.

Now for the "BIG" back-up HD question, what external HD's are going to work with the Pro and do we have to buy them from Macrosystem.

Paul,

I believe any USB hard drive will work with Bogart for this if properly formatted in the FAT32 format.

I purchased a couple of 500Gb Seagates and use an external USB hard drive dock.

I formatted the Seagates with the dock on my PC to be one large FAT32 formatted partition and they both work like a charm for backup archiving.

I went to that web site you mentioned in a previous post about formating a HD for FAT32 and after reading it I went "say what

" It was all Greek to me. So I guess those of us who arn't computer literate enough are just going to have to get them from MS. I'll just have to depend on the kindness of others, my PC friends, I have a Mac, to help me out. They know a heck of a lot more then I do about computers.

I always update the PDF list as soon as there are new updates or new products...
Unfortunatly the software I use to edit the internet pages does not update the date of the page you have mentioned above automatically.
So please check the PDF from time to time.

Whoa! You have a Mac. Plug in the USB drive find 'Disk Utility' on your Mac, select the USB drive (NOT YOUR MAC'S Hard Drive) and click 'erase'. As a 'Volume Format' option pick MS-DOS(FAT) and two minutes later there you go.

A lot of USB drives are already FAT32 (and memory sticks) but . . . some are not
