YES....You can use MEDIA MANAGER but the below is another choice. In Media manager, you have to archive your scene or storyboard to the PROJECT ARCHIVE file>Open MM then choose an EXPORT function and or/ENCODER. The below is a faster way if you do not want to keep ARCHIVES in your folder. Keep in mind that only 4Gigs can be kept in an individual folder so you may see more than one folder in your PC. This is even true with the new HD still cameras such as the NIKON 90 and the Canon 5D.
Simply BACKUP in the project window to the USB stickin SD. You can RESTORE anytime in a SD project.
NOW...if we are talking about HDV then I have a good tip:
1) SAVE your HDV project to MTS-slow download. This becomes an AVCHD file which can be read DIRECTLY from your flash drive via the units RECORD window utilizing the USB icon in the RECORD WINDOW-provided you are in a HDV project setting..
OR
2) SAVE your HDV project to MPEG 2 in the same window (HDV) and export to your stick-faster download. However, you can't RECORD any HDV projects back via the RECORD window so you must use Media Manager to do so at a cost of lower resolution as of now.
YOU MAY WANT TO:
3) Purchase for about 100 bucks, the WD TV by Western Digital. Simply plug in your above MPEG 2 from the loaded FLASH drive into the units USB port and connect a HDMI cable from your Widescreen TV into the WD TV. You can now watch HD in "all its glory" using a remote control that attaches to the WDTV. No need to purchase a PlayStation 3 which is more expensive.
