I use Disk transfer extensively to transfer type 2 avi files from my Renommee to my PC. There I upload the clips to our Moodle learning managment system (online computer based training). Here lately I have found that Disk transfer is spliting my clip in to two avi files. On the macrosystem side its only seeing one complete file, but on the PC side there are two files. The split is always at the 00:04:35 point or 996 MB. So I'm having to recombine the split avi files in a pc based editor before I can upload it.
Anyone care to hazard a guess as to whats happening?

Re: Disk Transfer Problem
This has been around for some time. I actually don't remember the file size but TECH SUPPORT advised me years back there is a file limit that is observed on PC. After that limit is reached, a new file is created.

Re: Disk Transfer Problem
Its odd though because I've been using DT to transfer 4 to 10 minute long clips for some time now, and I've only had this problem start recently. Maybe I was just lucky before

Re: Disk Transfer Problem
Don't doubt you. Maybe what I posted occurred in an older version? Tim any feedback if you know?

Re: Disk Transfer Problem
I don't think there is any way to have "gotten lucky" on this Chris.
You will find the 1GB (996MB to be exact) limit for Disk Transfer Scenes going from our units to the PC side listed in my March Get Together seminar PDF for both Disk Transfer and Ethernet Transfer.
This works out to approximately four minutes and thirty-eight seconds of footage.
Even though the segments are lossless and seamless if put back to back in a PC video editing program I always use direct firewire transfer to avoid this for vids longer than five minutes.
I'd say you just had used vids of less than five minutes going in the Ren to PC direction previously and so had not ran into this limitation.
PS - Happy 2009 New Year to all!

My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
