I am finishing my last project on my Avio. I want to have the digital hotcakes image of the American flag in the background and then I have shots of "stars" with messages on them our kids made for President Obama. I would like to take those individual clips and have them move across the screen while the flag waves in the background. Which software piece should I use and how complicated?
I also submitted this to Chet as my first use of membership to his site. I want to see who answers first, one of my esteemed colleagues or the Casablanca Expert.
thanks!

- Casablanca Unit: S2000 with all software. I also have a Prestige that I used on my film transfer station. I have B4W loaded on a laptop. I have a S4000 Pro that I am going to trade in for a discount on software for my B4W setup. I even have my first Cassie, the AVIO that I am going to hook up. Not sure what I will use it for but I want to see it run again.

Re: Multiple clips moving across over a background
Mike,
I am in the process of providing a detailed answer for you, you could use either PIP Studio or PIP Studio 2... with multiple student stars, assuming you want one at a time maybe - with the voice-over/audio to come thru on each one... this could be quite complicated. Very do-able but a bit of work. I will provide you the detailed instructions on the Ask The Expert section of my website: http://www.CasablancaExpert.com
Regards,
Chet

Re: Multiple clips moving across over a background
Chet - The stars are static shots that I wanted to just move across the background scene from right to left. There might be like 12 of these static scenes, with no audio.

Re: Multiple clips moving across over a background
Thanks for the clarification Mike -- I liked your scenario so much, I have decided to include it as one of the topics I will be covering tomorrow in the Members Only Webinar!.
I know, you may be in class at that time - but as a member to my new website you will have access to the streaming video from the webinar that you can playback anytime that is convenient to you (and you'll be able to download and print the step by step instructions for the effect.
I am electing to provide the tutorial using PIP Studio 2 -- the original incarnation of PIP Studio (which is still a great program) I would need to split the original/background video up into segments to have different PIPs moving throughout the segment. PIP Studio 2 can be applied onto the Storyboard in the Image Processing screen which, in my mind, allows a much easier approach to this production task.
Regards,
Chet
P.S. And after the session tomorrow, I will post the instructions on the Ask the Expert pages and also email them directly to you.
