Re: transition from PIP studio scene
I would say you have not set your transition duration to the full length of the Scene, Jim.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Re: transition from PIP studio scene
That was it, thanks. But the max time allowed was one second shorter than either scene. What's taking away the second?

Jim:
Most likely it is one second shorter due to the time of the fade in. Lets say for example your total scene length was 12 seconds, When you were creating your PIP you had to program it to fade, Zoom, Go to the right or something. If you did not specify what time you wanted for the Pip to come onto your base scene, it would have defaulted to :15 or 1/2 second. So you would have a fade in of 1/2 second, stay on screen for 11 seconds and then take another 1/2 second to fade out, the total being 12 seconds. If you needed it to stay on screen fully, you would have to choose your effect as "cut" in and Cut out also being sure to specify :00 as the fade in time by moving the fade duration all the way to the left to = :00

Re: transition from PIP studio scene
I am going to have to disagree with that Bob.
The duration of the transition should be settable to the entire length of the Scene and the additional settings one uses inside the PIP Studio menu regarding fades or movements is limited by the total duration time setting, but should not effect the actual duration of the total transition in this case.
Jim,
Are you positive the two Scenes are of identical length and one is not one second shorter than the other or that you have a one second transition already in place between the first Scene of the two involved and the Scene prior to that one?
One of those two scenarios would be the likely issue.

Re: transition from PIP studio scene
Not that it created a problem, because it solved the problem of the PIP scene showing, it's just that the maximum time allowed by the transition button was one second shorter. Guess it has to do with the half second used by the transitions before and after the two scenes involved.

Re: transition from PIP studio scene
Exactly.
If you created the Scene without the before and after transitions you would have gotten full duration.
Then after replacing the two with the created Scene you could have added the other transitions.
