Mac photo to S4000 Pro?

Post by PhilHandler »

I have an iMac with Photoshop CS4. In the past, I have been able to use an older version of photoshop to resize photos and output directly to my Renommee via firewire into DV. I have been trying this with the S4K Pro using HDV format, and the iMac doesn't see any device and the Cassie doesn't see anything either. Any suggestions? Anyone doing this successfully?

Phil,

I am curious why you are not bringing this in as a JPEG/photo rather than video source?

For either system to recognize the other they need to be 'showing' a DV signal --- I believe the Mac would need to be launched in a video editing application and playing back video footage to be 'seen' by your Casablanca. And the opposite way around for your S4K to Mac.. but then in HDV that brings up a whole new set of fun hurdles :).

I would recommend trying to import the JPEG, pop a USB flash drive into your Mac, drag and drop -- bring that either to Photo Transfer on your S4K or bring that photo in via the Photo Archives in the Media Manager, then back into your project use the new 'Archives' to import that photo into your project.

Thanks Chet,
The reason I was trying to do this via video is to eliminate steps, but the result is what I am looking for; getting it in the edit.

I had tried the Archives function and bad things were happening, but based on your suggestion, I just did it again, and it worked fine. This should be a solution.
