i am importing dv signal from a sony hvr 15u hdvcr and the video and audio is not in sync. Any suggestions.

Greg,
If you are listening via your deck or camcorder while watching the video input on your editor it will always be off, but will be captured correctly.
If it is actually off after inputting it usually is a handshake snag that occured at Record start or dropped frames.
Re-input letting the tape roll for a second prior to hitting Record on your editor.
