ALT arrow key Arabesk problem

Post by DrDray »

My Alt arrow key function is not working in Arabesk4 so I cant shift letters down when I'm in the edit menu function. I missing something? I've tried unplugging the key boars several times and that didn't help. I am hitting alt and the bent arrow just like I did in Ver3?

Unfortunately that is a known issue in the current version - we're told there is a fix for that issue.
In the meantime, here's how you get what you want (which I assume is a multiple line text/title.

1. Click on Text in the Edit Menu menu (where you affect the Main Menu of the DVD title)
2. Create the first line of text/title, set the font/style to your preference
3. Then click on the 'New' button in this menu and it will produce a copied 2nd title.
4. Click on Position and move that title box where you desire (beneath the first/top box)
5. Then you can click in the Text Field and enter the specific text you desire for this 2nd line.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like you are running SE8 on which that is a known bug.

It is supposed to be fixed with SE8.1 which you can download a Bootable CD to use to install for your Solitaire.

No one should use a bootable CD on an Avio, Kron, Prestige or Claro, but you can with the Solitaire.

Thanks for the heads-up/reminder on that Tim. I just checked my RenoPlus which is running SE 8.1 and Arabesk 4.1e and unfortunately I still have that Alt/line feed issue. Perhaps I need to execute a clean installation (which won't be happening for a couple of weeks for me).

Well the Cassie website states 8.1 is supposed to fix that.

I have moved on to the S4P and Bogart SE bugs (LOL), so cannot confirm if SE 8.1 actually fixes it like they said or not.

When new features are added to software, it requires thousands of lines of new code to be written and intigrated into the existing software. Sometimes these new lines of code interfere with what was there already. While it is not the intent of the code writers to lose features, sometimes it happens accidentally when so many new lines of code are added and some of them do effect the old code.

The more features we get.....the more complicated the software becomes and the more chance for conflicts within the system. Such is the "Brave New World" of software for the masses that is rushed to market before its ready.
