Hi all,
How do I set up my S4K for a network connection?
The PC on Win XP home is set up to share. Testing Cassi says 'These settings allow internet and network access.'. But on attempting to see the PC all it says is , 'No share found!'. The PC says the connection is working and has sent 91 packets of data speed 100 Mpbs.
Any ideas? Alan.

Re: Network connection
Alan,
The short answer is that you need to modify the setting in the 'Filter (prefix)' menu setting: click cancel and left click in the text field behind the 'filter' button and delete all characters.
The full and complete answer (with additional tips) is found as a short tutorial/article on my website here http://casablancaexpert.com/articles/20090126_18 (accessible for members of my webiste).
Hope that helps!
Regards,
Chet

Re: Network connection
Hi Chet,
There were no characters in the prefix field, so that was not the problem.
Having tried every setting I could think of I gave up and connected up an old lap top up. To my astonishment it worked straight away! Switching the main computer on I compared the two. Both had the same settings?
My son had the bright idea of enabling shares on the main drive C. Amazing, it worked straight away and Cassi now also plays the training sound files for Dragon Naturally speaking. Fortunately C is shown separately so the work I need is shown in the allocated files.
Cheers Alan.

Re: Network connection
Now for the next bit EXPORT.
I want to export to the PC to do a bit of tweaking in Premier Pro.
Having chosen' export PC files MPEG direct .avi' what I find when they arrive in the computer is that they have been heavily compressed, say from 691 MB to 153 MB. They will not play in any of the players and though they can be brought into Premier Pro there is only a blank file of the correct length and no audio file.
Any ideas?
Cheers Alan.
