Importing Jumpdrive video

Post by Kyle »

Hi -
I am editing with a Kron 5.1c. A bride gave me a 2 minute clip of her wedding proposal to use on her DVD. The clip is on a 128 mb jumpdrive. This is a new one for me, as I always load video via firewire. Is there a way to import video from a jumpdrive?
Thanks much.

If you were using one of the Bogart enabled newer Casablanca editors with the Media Manager I could say, very likely. But in the Casablanca II editors (Kron included) you would have to first use a computer to read the video on the flash drive. The easiest next step I believe would be to play it back from your computer as a video file into your Casablanca (depending on the compatibility - you may find it easier to export to DV tape and _then_ into your Kron).

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your help, guys. It was easy to make a CD from my PC, but it was a little harder to find a DVD player that would read the CD. My Samsung DVD-1080P8 did the trick. Even though I had to load it into the Kron with cable via the CVBS input, the quality was just fine.
