You Tube Upload Tip

Post by JBrooks »

For Casablanca users that wish to upload a short video clip that's less than 5 minutes in length, (the 2 gig file size limit), to You Tube without converting the footage to MPEG or WMV file formats, simply create an
.avi TYPE 2 file via the Disc Transfer program, burn the DVD, then transfer the disc to a pc desktop, then open the folder and click on the file folder name; "DV Export", then choose this as the file to upload into the You Tube import window. You will have a pristine, very clean high quality video to show on You Tube. I have used this technique for every short video that I have uploaded to You Tube.

I do not know where the files is sent on the 4k. The unit said it was downloading but it did not tell me where. I always have trouble converting the vob files to something people can play on the computer.

Bill,

Joel said to use Disk Transfer.

If you are getting VOB files, then you are just burning a standard MPEG2 DVD in Arabesk and not using Disk Transfer which creates an AVI file which any PC can play back using a multitude of players including ones like WMP, etc.

At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.

No I did that after I could not find where the file went. I did'nt have a disk in the burner when I did disk transfer. It ran so I thought it would go to some location like archive.

Bill,

Well, the Add Scene loads it somewhere temporarily just like Add Film in Arabesk, but just like Add Film, you have to burn it to a DVD to do anything with it and switching to between Disk Transfer and normal DVD burning will lose the file in both directions for which it will warn you.

However, you mentioned a VOB file and that a MPEG2 DVD file nomenclature and not a Disk Transfer one.

Because there is no way for the software to know how many Scenes you want to put on a DVD in Disk Transfer or how many Films you want to put on a DVD in Arabesk neither has a "pop up" message.

Both have a Write DVD button for when you have finished adding all Scenes/Films that you intend to put on a DVD.

For Disk Transfer due to the much less compressed AVI format a standard DVD will hold approximately 20 minutes of footage.
