You Tube/Vimeo

Post by erictom »

Quick question: What's the fastest way to post a short HD project to You Tube or Vimeo from the S4000K Pro?

Hi Eric,

Use Archives in Bogart to 'move' the film to Media manager.

Then in Media Manger export it (in YouTube HD format) to a memory stick and pop that in you PC/Mac and upload it from there . . .

Thanks. Michael. I'll try that. Have you tried exporting it directly from the S4K when its connected to the internet?

Hello Eric,

You can import data (photos, videos and audio) from a PC connected to your S4000 but you cannot at this time export to a PC or directly to the web. You must use either a disk (DVD/CD), an external HDD or a USB flash drive to take your exported video to a computer for uploading to the internet.

Chet is correct, if it would increase the chance of a virus intering our systems, I hope the internet upload/download feature does NOT come about. It would be great if we had that feature, but might be too risky...

All of our firewire capable gen2 units, down to the modest AvioDV were capable of direct firewire to PC or from PC and I used the feature extensively, without issue.

Unfortunately, the gen3 suped up units are supposed to be able to do this, but never have.

It is NOT a designed in safety feature not to be able to do this, but a bug that has not been addressed or solved.

I WANT the ability to be able to firewire to and from a PC like I had for all the years I had my AvioDV and Solitaires.

Let me decide what is safe to do and not and those that feel it is not safe can just not use the feature that we had and should still have on the new units.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Thanks, guys for all your expert guidance. I tried Vimeo, but for some reason, it came out jerky with no audio...must be my compression rate or something...but You Tube loaded flawlessly.

I'd like to share it with you: http://www.youtube.com/user/vdvp

Nice Eric.

I have had the occasional military wedding, but have never seen the tradition where they lower swords at each station to "force" a kiss, let alone the sword swack. :D

I agree with Tim and Jim. I DO want the ability to talk to PCs, and other features regarding the net, downloading etc..., I just want it to be safe.
