controls for title effects

i have a new avio with title effects that do not have controls as the old one did, such as zoom, and a few others. anyone know why? mangimages

Sounds like your old Avio had the Title Effects Pack add-on and your new one doesn't.

Is your profile accurate or is this Avio running Smart Edit V8 and are you running single video monitor? If so, that is your issue - there is a problem running single video monitor in that effects that have more than 3 lines of options in the effects sub-menu (at bottom right) will not display. This affects Deluxe Titler 3D and many of the Title Effects 2 and Title Effects 3. This is a known issue and I hope will be addressed in SE Version 8.2

As one of the earliest contributors to this forum and the founder of the "March Get Together" The National Convention for Casablanca users, I have called this forum the "Friendliest place on the web".

We like to preserve this friendly atmosphere by using our real names in our posts, and asking honest questions of each other. When these questions are asked we all try to answer quickly and in a friendly helpful manner.

I'm not sure what the reference to "K-Mart" you Bro. meant in your reply to our community's most knowledgable member and most helpful person available. It sounded like a slam at the one person most able to help you.

If you continue to visit our forum, you will find that most of us have been with Casablanca machines for years and have gone through all the growing pains of changing over from analog to digital editing with all the little problems that occur along the way. We try to help each other out and maintain our family-like atmosphere here.

I'm sorry you are having a first time problem with your AVIO but if that is true you are way ahead of all of us who have been using the system for those same number of years and managed to help others as we found answers to our problems. If you receive answers which you don't understand, please ask again and let us know what you need to know to make it work for you. There are always answers to our questions.

I hope you will continue to visit us here and actually find us to be a valuable resource for your editing needs.

Actually we're still not sure if we have diagnosed your issue as I am not certain which OS you are running. The previous situation I mentioned (lack of ability to display more than 2 lines of menu text) is only an SE 8 abberation. Your profile indicates you have a much older OS... please clarify as they may be something else going on.

... by the way, it is my understanding that in the update for Smart Edit 8 (V8.2) that is released in PAL and in testing for NTSC this item is remedied (the missing menu options when using single monitor video mode on effects that have more than 2 lines of options).

i have a refurbished avio dvd 1.10a. included were cassablanca smart edit dvd and cas. smartE dvd including smart edit 7, cass. video manuals vol 5 & 6. the bill of sale says it's a smart edit 8, arabesk 4. nothing seems to jibe. also, on vid productions, the ending includes a scene with old title titles that pop up, even tough i seem to have changed those. ther is no info on how i can elimenate this usless add on. thanks for you time, marty mang
