I use the rectangle to eliminate that thin green line that appears when flipping, zooming, or doing most effects. I often build up the image effects in the scene bin and then add the finished project to my storyboard. I also make scenes out of certain stacked effects and then add even more effects in the scene bin.
I'm cutting a TV 2 times monthly on the S4KP. It has all kinds of issues but has been a workhorse.
Also, my commercial projects have been great lately on the machine. I've coped with the green line well on them using the rectangle and not noticed any problems with it when outputting in HDV (mpeg-2) to harddrive or memory card. I'm going to go back and watch the projects to see if there are any noticeable problems on the edges.
I resize the rectangle to cover the green line perfectly. It has worked for me.
