Re: Help
Hey Jean and Tim I know just the scene I'll use in those places. My wife panned the audience a couple times and I didn't use those shots. I stayed on the other camera. That should work good. Thanks. Jean do you just shoot weddings? I use to worked with a company years ago that shot weddings on to original love boat. High dollar, $4000 a pop and that was probably 15 years ago or more. Probably more than that. The editing was done tape to tape on 3/4in tape. At $4000 I may rethink the wedding bussiness. I try to shoot the things I love so it kinda melds together. I have a job coming up to shoot a promo for a large painting contractor and he works all over the country. It will involve a lot of travel but the work is boring. I have a hard time getting into painting. Sometimes you have to do what pays the bills. Tim what do you do mostly? I enjoy talking to you guys. Bob...

Re: Help
Hi Bob
Yes I do manly shoot wedding because I don't like directing ( telling people what to do is just not me). I would like to charge people that kind of money but here in Toowoomba Australia people are a bit tight or rather spend that money on a photographer. (I found they over charge a bit for the time they spend on a wedding shoot or post production). I suppose that is how the cookie crumbles I am the last one to be booked and the first one to be dropped if they are over budget , so I have a normal full time job as well to pay the bills. Wedding are so seasonal Spring and Autumn are flat out but Summer and Winter are not that busy. I just don't like sitting around waiting for jobs to come in or looking for work you can say I am a bit laidback but that's the way I am no pushy sales talk they want you or not. Here you go you know a bit about me and again that doesn't bother me got nothing to hide.

Re: Help
Not sure what happened to my post response, time to get some shut eye as fatigue must be getting to me.
There is very little I have not shot over the last twenty-five years from dances, plays, graduations, reunions, birthday parties, how to videos, commercials and corporate work.
My interests have moved on more to straight people interaction and I have a full-time job of that now, so I have cut way back on video.
I do the occasional stand alone photo montage and some tape to DVD transfers, but other than that I limit myself to weddings as I still enjoy pleasing brides and refer on the other types of work to other video colleagues.

My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Re: Help
Well I shot 3 races Saturday night without stopping either Cam 1 or Cam 2. The first race went all the way to the last lap with out a caution. It edited well. The 2nd race was riddled with cautions. I got abut 3/4 the way thru the race and I forgot and hit pause after a wreck. Old habits die hard. I used QC to edit the first 10 laps and I screwed up on a switch so had to stop it I went to Camera 2 and for some reason he went to the sky with his camera just after I switched. I didn't see it at first and went back to #1 and then noticed #2 was in the air. So I stopped QC and started over. I left the first 10 laps where it went ok but I scewed up agin and had to stop. The 3rd race was a complete disaster. They raced a lap at a time the first half of the race and I got frustrated and stopped #1. I think I have decided that split and insert is the way to go with racing. I used 1 60 min tape for 1 race. Besides as I go along I'll get better and faster with slit and insert. It worked great for the wedding. I got the Ceremony completely done. Now I have to fight with the Reception. She (my wife) was not able to get into the DJ's board as I had told her to and she had a time figuring out how to get the camera on internal mic's. I've got about 20 minutes of silent reception. Good place for music I guess. She had my Panasonics, I had the Sonys, and she isn't very familuar with them. I guess thats my fault I didn't splain em very good. Bob...
