Generate output file

Fellas,

I'm a newbie to Casablanca systems. I was asked to take over the TV production class here at our HS so pardon my ignorance, I'm learning.

Each day we record our show, then output by using "Finish", "Record to VCR" and it plays via our cable feed.

The administrators (crawling up my you-know-what) would like to me generate an output file, such as .wmv, .avi, .mp4, that can be copied to a flash drive and replayed on a computer.

I upgraded to Bogart 4 but still do not see how I can accomplish this.

Per the response above, I tried using the "Opt" button from the Edit screen which I presume is the Option button described above. When I click on the Opt button it pops up dialog box with 3 choices that arent relevant to generating an output file.

Any idea where I can obtain explicit (step-by-step) instructions on how to accomplish this? Assuming its possible.

You don't have BOGART 4? It is a feature in BOGART 4 that will make perfect .AVI files that contain MP4-just as your client wishes. If you use Media Manager, it is a long drawn out procedure. First you must ARCHIVE the SB to Media Manager. But be careful of losing the audio if you leave MPEG-2 unchecked in the ARCHIVE area.......then you go to Media Manager.........open the film icon......then use your import button......then choose PC as your destination........then open up the CODEC window........then choose the file.........then choose the import device.....then HOPE it exports in sync or at all -properly.

Get BOGART 4, it's worth the time saving.

I DID upgrade the OS to Bogart 4 but cannot find the option to generate an output file to a flash drive.

Quite honestly, its not very intuitive (or maybe its just me!)...

In Edit-Window the "opt" button is down on the right between "i" and the clipboard symbol.
Any scene in the scene bin can be exported via "Export actual scene" button to a flash drive or ext. harddrive.
It is an AVI-File.
This file can also be imported again via USB-Record.
