it wasn't easy to do this alone but had a great time :)

Yeah a little colder than D.R. Franklin LOL
Most of this video was shot with the 7d with a Wide Angle lens 10-22 mm
I have more video on a different montage coming up and was mostly shot with the 5d 50mm & 70-200mm
Tks for checking it out its a great cause and the look on the faces of the kids when we delivered top of the line hockey gear was all worth it :)

I wanted to honour the beauty & beautiful peoples of Pond Inlet in this piece. It was not easy to shoot video in -30C/-22F weather all alone... I had my 7d freeze up on me once because I left it in the shade. I had only one day to capture the town of Pond Inlet.

What a great honour also to have Paul Hamilton from Chicago write another perfect musical piece to match the beauty & positive vibes from this little community in the middle of nowhere. It was _VERY_ cold but the peoples were so warm hearted & the music reflects that !!

It's scored for full orchestra: strings, brass, woodwinds & timpani, 2 accordions, 2 guitars, glockenspiel,
celesta, handbells. The Inuit throat singing & chorus he multi tracked.
Recorded with Logic Studio (between train stops- city life).

Shot with Canon 7d 10-22mm 3.5/4.5f & 5d Mark II 70-200mm 2.8f & 50mm 1.4f

Edited on a Macrosystem S-4100 !!

Beautiful! This is something we'd never see if it weren't for intrepid videographers like yourself. May I ask if you used any color processing to boost color saturation, or was that the image the camera produced?

This is the kind of films that the outside world needs to see! Absolutely stellar! Paul did a wonderful job on the score! (Tell him I said hello). The only thing I would have changed is.....if you could have used my 7D too! (That would mean I could have been with you!). Great job Dude! Good luck with Steve at Zacuto! Keep me updated.

My guess is that those shots were not touched. Straight off the sensor.

Thank you CK & Seth the 7d/5d were set to in camera Picture Profile "Landscape" which makes blues more striking.
Since everything was so white I thought that was the best option & the Colour was boosted 20% in post to give it even more kick.
Contrast was also adjusted slightly...I could of used a hand Seth for sure...just walking with the tripod/slider dressed like an astronaut
was tough & since you have a lot of experience with that up in Alaska you could of shown me how to climb these Icebergs without face planting :p
which happen twice lol.

Thanks Eric... how are things working out with your SLR ? I'm here to help you or share my experiences, mistakes etc anytime :)
Franklin Yo aún no ha utilizar cualquier cámara lenta, pero me gustaría empezar a hacer algunos, pero nuestro sistema no funciona bien con el modo progresivo, así que estoy buscando en FCP para que me ayude con eso.

Cheers
