Can anyone out there please answer this one?
I am unable to to transfer the images from my Sony PMW-EX1 SxS cards (via the camera, connected by the i-link cable) to the Casablanca S4100. Many hours have been spent experimenting with various menu settings on the camera, all to no avail.
The only result I could achieve was a "live" image from the camera with the "camera/off/media" switch set to "camera" which recorded on to the Casablanca perfectly.
Any ideas?

Re: Camera compatability problem
Gosh, what a great camera! They say that the new editing software (new Bogart) is supposed to fix this problem. I've got three Sony's that use tape and have no problem. I used the Panasonic SD card camera with no trouble too. The EX1 is a camera I'd love to have and compatibility is important obviously.
I know that you've tried this, but can the EX1 play the video over the firewire just like we capture from tape?
Chris Stone has the little compact flash Sony recorder and says it works fine.

Re: Camera compatability problem
The new update to BOGART SE is suppose to address the issue with the EX-'s MP4 files being recognized via the BOGART side using the USB ICON in the RECORD WINDOW.
However, did you try Media Manager ? Keep optimized set to off. Click on the USB ICON or go to FILM and open #6......IMPORT.
Are you using a bit-rate higher than 25mps? Try using 25mps not 30.. Then, try to firewire in at this bit-rate.
You problem will be short-lived once the new BOAGRT SE update is released.
JOEL BROOKS has been importing via SXS cards with the current OS.
