Backup Restore HDV

Post by ShadowVision »

Okay, I'm preparing to clean up my S4KP harddrive, and I've put a number of projects in HDV (mpeg-2) on dvd.

Larger projects like the 30 minute TV shows I've cut are broken into 3 individual clips on a DL-DVD.

I then experimented with bringing these clips back into the system and the "restore" option was not available to me.

I'm currently using Media Manager to import, but it is terribly slow.

Why can't I just bring the files back in using restore?

Because Restore is non-functional currently with HDV on the Bogart side.

Is HDV Restore through Media Manager restoring to full quality without degradation or artifacts?
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

I gave up because it was taking very long to bring in a 7 minute clip. Seems like we need a backup option. Is this coming with the new Bogart? I'm going to check the list.

You could always try;

http://www.macrosystem.us/index.php?pr=HD_Backup_Bogart

It works very well to an external USB drive. Only downside is that it will replace existing projects when you restore.
On the upside it doesn't copy the system, so it saves space, and you can do multiple backups (inc HD) without deleting original backup footage on the external drive.
