Replacement DVD Burner does not work

I have a Presige OS-8.1 and Arabesk 2.4a
Lately I had trouble writing DVDs and was told by MS to replace the burner.
I just installed the new burner they sent me and when I went to Arabesk none of the buttons on the menu responded. I could'nt even turn the machine off.
I thought I may need to re-install Arabesk to fix the problem so I deleted it and discovered to my dismay that the new burner does not read the installation disc.
Could they have sent me the wrong burner? (I am waiting for MS response) What sould I do Next?

Hi Ilanchu,

when you replaced the new burner, did you set the same jumpers as in old burner?
Is the new burner same type as the old one?
