S4000 - Should I buy?
I have an opportunity to purchase a used machine. Can anybody help with suggestions on what I should be watching for? how to test performance? I have been using SE on a prestige and am not sure how to go about making sure I don't get a lemon.

Re: S4000 - Should I buy?
The S4000 is a relatively solid machine hardware wise, actually far more so than the ones that replaced it (2000, 4100), that said, it still comes down to the fact that it is a fairly complicated piece of electronics.
Your best insurance is how well you trust and know the seller.
Short of that or some sort of time guarantee I don't know of any way to "know" short of using it for a day and running it through some editing and burning a DVD to see if everything works.

My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.
