Hey Bob Foster, interesting correlation because I'm using OS 8.xx and Arabesk 4.xx

And your mention of compression is a key element that I had suspected because the unrecoverable glitch occurs when (I believe) some compression is underway. Specifically, during the conversion processes that are needed when making a scene with a title or Finishing the entire project in HDV.
For Lou (and anyone else interested), I did several experiments:
1) Using the same Canon XH A1, I recorded new footage on the "glitch tape" (on a virgin area) and new footage on another tape. Neither of these produced problems when loaded into a new HDV project. However.... And this is a WEIRD - yet CONSISTENT - result....
2)
When loading a title that was created and archived previously within the "glitch project", the same error occured in the new project with new footage.
Wow! I am to conclude that some kind of "virus" came into the RENO+ from the earlier tape footage and somehow "wormed" its way onto the hard drive so it could replicate and mutate on another sector???? Sounds like a spy-tech novel. Scary.
I'm going to delete any and all titles I archived during the "glitch project" and then reboot. And - I'm going to conclude with about 98% certainty that there is nothing mafunctioning in my beloved Canon XH A1.
