photo studio

Post by KimSWilliamson »

my photo studio is acting all wonky.

It never has worked very well but worse since destructive reinstall this week. used new cd from Macro with software....hmmmm

for one thing, it will only import 11 photos at a time??? Even tho the card has 28 photos on it.

there is also a bright green ghost thing that appears when I use the arrow to point to photos. This green thing has appeared in editng bin too, when making special images.

anyway, any suggestions on how to make photo studio work right?

Kim
I have in the past had the occasional problems with Photo Studio, including green boxes and only some photos being transferred. This program is very fussy about the type of input, so it is important to follow the following rules.

1. The photos must be above a certain resolution, not sure what this lower limit is, but I suggest you keep them above 800 x 600. Even at this size they may import, but may not allow you to animate the photos. I usually keep mine at 1900 x 1400 or above.
2. They must be in colour of at least 8bit, even scanned black and white needs to be scanned in colour. I usually scan in 16bit or 32bit colour. When scanning I use 200dpi or 300dpi.
3. They must be saved in *jpg format, even when in JPEG format they will not import.

Finally it has been suggested that some photos processed using Photoshop or some other photo programs on a PC can cause problem, but I personally have not had any issues with these programs.

Sticking to the above rules, touch wood, I do not have problems.

If you have done all of the above, then I am not sure, but it may be worth you removing the program from your Cassie and reinstalling it again.

Hope this helps.

I would agree Kim with Ian - I would recommend deleting the Photo Studio 2 software (from Install Product in System Settings menu), power down on an empty project, and then reinstall the software.

The fact that you also report green 'scenes' in the other menus concerns me that there may be a corruption in your OS (unless these green screen scenes are scenes from Photo Studio 2). The fact you said you performed a clean (full) OS installation this week refutes the suggestion I was going to make to do just that. If your green scenes continue to appear after the de- and re-installation of PS2, I would contact Tech Support.
