Q's about these camcorders for a S2000...
I'm trying to avoid the frustrations and upsets associated with buying a camcorder that "should" work but doesn't with my S2000. Currently, I'm looking at a Canon Vixia HF M32 flash memory. It can record in 30p (converted from 60i) and in 24p (also converted). 30p "should" work according to what I now understand? Or, it'll record in AVCHD @24Mbps and 17, 12 and 5Mbps. Will 24Mbps work? What's the difference between 24Mbps and 24fps (and 24p)? which MSUS says won't work with my S2000. I simply want the best quality pic I can get that a S2000 will accept and edit and burn blu-rays discs and dvds. I'm also looking at the Sony HDR-CX160 flash memory. It will record in 60p this year - but, also AVCHD 60i. Should I be concerned it won't record in 30p as the Canon will? Could a 60p cam somehow corrupt it's ability to be compatible with a S2000 in the AVCHD mode?? (that seems to be the case in the Panasonic I just returned.) You can see I'm caught in a sea of confusion and uncertainty. Do any of you own a 3rd generation Casablanca and successfully edit HD in either of these camcorders? Or, can you recommend other "consumer" models that will? btw- thanks to those of you who've assisted me to this point!
