Trimming Tip

Post by JBrooks »

When working with long scenes and if you need to set alot of in and out points:

Trim your raw footage clip & set the first in & out point, place in the storyboard, then use the "copy" function to copy the exact clip, then find your next edit in & out point, place in storyboard, re-copy and continue. This will create alot of clips in your scene bin, but once you have all of your clips in the storyboard and you need to re-arrange, the storyboard, or change an aspect of one of your storyboard clips, then you can refer to that exact storyboard clip by clicking on the "search" function and you will always have access to an exact copy of the clip in your scene bin with the in & out points you originally set for each clip. I have used this technique for a long time.

It works well for me.
