hard drive not working somewhat

Post by camdad67 »

Hi. I have a Renommee and a Renommee Plus. My Renommee hard drive won't work in the Renommee Plus. I have a two screen setup. The Renommee Plus starts up, with my Renommee hard drive, and everything appears to be normal. But when the Casablanca screen disappears, the VGA monitor goes blank white. The TV screen still displays the color bars. After awhile, the whole system crashes - everything shuts down.

The Renommee Plus hard drive works in the Renommee.

I have two other Renommee hard drives. I haven't tried using them in the Plus unit, yet. I got so bogged down with the one hard drive that I didn't think about testing the other two. I'll do that tomorrow morning.

If this is the first time you have tried to use that drive between your different models I believe the culprit is related to hardware on the drive itself... I recall there was a jumper setting or rather a special cable adapter that was required to use some Hard Drives between the Renommee and the Plus model. I would check with Boulder Tech Support. The other quick thing I would try is to go to a single-monitor set-up... not saying it will fix-it but it's a quick thing to test and find out ;)

Thanks Chet. Your sugession may be the solution. It probably is the connector. I'll give tech support a call. I had a similar problem when I traded in my Prestige for the Renommee.

My four HDDs are set on Master. One of my thee Renommee drives works in the Plus. The Plus drive works in Renommee.

One of Renommee drives, that doesn't work in the Plus, is the same make, model and size as the Renommee Plus drive.

Have a good night.
