EXCELLENT HD TIP-"S"4000 Model

Post by LouBruno »

I have recently been playing my data HDV files either via USB or DVD in PlayStation 3.

However, the device listed below is a MIUCH less expensive way to play your HD DATA files from your "S" model.

As a matter of fact, last night I was able to play from my FLASH DRIVE directly into this small USB to HDMI converter all of my HDV scenes. The quality on the Widescreen TV was excellent. The unit is a little over $100 dollars. SEE BELOW:

Yes, I have been considering incorporating one of these as part of an HDV package to just skip all the currently inherent BluRay industry compatibility problems.
My mom always told me that happiness was the key to life.
At school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.
I said “happy" and they told me I didn’t understand the question.
I told them they didn’t understand life.

Lou, great tip! I purchased one for $130 at Best Buy, plus an extra HDMI cable.

I transferred a little 3-minute HD test program from DVD to a 1 Gig SanDisk, played it back through a SanDisk multicard reader into the WD player, and it played fine into one of the HDMI ports on one of our HD receriver/monitors. And as Lou says, the quality is superb.

Lou, I'm wondering what the brand and capacity of the flash drive card which you used was, and whether you burned it directly from the S-4000-P via the USB port - i.e.c urious to know how long a program you could get on such a disk.

By the way, the software disk which came with my player came complete with its own virus which had to be dispatched using an exorcism.

Correct me if I'm wrong....but loading a lengthy program (i.e., 1 hour+) even on a big capacity drive (i.e., Western Digital, Model #WDME2500TN 250GB Passport Portable USB 2.0 and paired with the Western Media HD Player)...will still break down files into 11-minute increments and not play continuously....right? I believe that's an inherent limitation of the Bogart software, if I'm not mistaken.

Inquiring minds want to know.
