cropping video?

Post by videojim »

Is there a way to crop a video image? I have a scene where the edge of a green screen is curled into the frame, and a little adjustment would fix it. Is there a way?

2 options for you. BB Mask Rectangle can put a green rectangle around the whole scene. Assuming you have Blu Box world since you are shooting on green screen, you should have this effect. Start the effect and select Mode, Out, and then Select Area, make a rectangle that includes almost the entire shot. Outside said rectangle is where your green border will end up. Using "Full Size " mode is a must. And your green color will need to be as close as you can get it to your green screen footage.

Alternatively, you can use the "Hide Area" effect if you have it. Bring up that effect and then choose "Hide Area" amongst the 3 different choices. Then create a long rectangle on the edge of your frame where you want to hide the screen curling. Select options and choose the color, again green like your screen.

Once you add the border in, and make a scene of it,you should be able to use Blu Box the same way as if you never saw the screen curling at the edge.

Let us know if that works.

I second "ZOOM" if you are not going to crop a lot. Just removing a little green screen should not be a problem.

Zoom was the first thing I thought of as well but if you zoom in too much your picture quality suffers. And you could cut off you subjects head or at least decrease their head room.
