Format the USB stick/drive to NTFS. Also..Make sure you have enough space for
your project,

Not sure if this is relevant but thought I'd post anyway. I also have a Karat with Bogart 10. I installed version 10 because I wanted to be able to work with footage shot at 60P. The Karat can work with 60P but because the machine was designed before 60P was common, it does have problems. I just finished editing a wrestling series video shot at 60P. Most of the clips were between 1 and 2 minutes but a few went as long as 6 min. First off, using OPT button and trying export scenes with render booster, it will not give me all the options that render booster normally provides. .mp4 is not an option. But .AVI was. So all the files I created were .AVI. Later in a project for 30P, all the normal options were there including .MP4. Also on the longer clips, exporting to .AVI would sometimes fail causing me to down convert the footage to 30P in another project to get it to work.

Other problems I encountered with 60P footage, I could not render storyboards all at once. I had to render the audio first then render the storyboard. If I rendered whole storyboard at once, once it got to rendering the audio (as it does this last) the system would crash. Also the footage does not play back clean in the scene bin or storyboard. But once it's edited and output to a USB or whatever it looks great.

There are other problems too but not sure if it's an OS or a machine problem. Point being because the OS is newer than the computer, many problems could arise.

As to your problem, what have you tried? My first thoughts were as Lou said and also, some brands of USB work and others don't. I have tremendous success with Sandisc drives. Reducing the bit rate, trying other formats that are acceptable to the client. Let us know what happens.

I don't own a Render Booster but I am wondering - has the original version of Render Booster software been updated?

Christopher6206 Tried the above as in changing the format of the usb It worked ok as an AVIfile I was able to play on my tv but the computer couldn’t read the file So it’s been suggested I use a powered hard drive and copy to that first then transfer to usb So waiting on the hard drive arriving hopefully today I’ll see how that goes

  • The RenderBooster is no longer built since 2012 and there are no changes since Bogart 5.2.
  • The RB does not support 50p/60p projects :!:
It is a third-party hardware that can't be changed any more. :?

  • Encoding a 60 minutes 1920x1080i60 project for Blu-ray with Arabesk and the RenderBooster takes about 1,5 hours.
  • Encoding a 60 minutes 1920x1080p60 project for Blu-ray with Arabesk and no RenderBooster takes about 9-13 hours.
  • Encoding a 60 minutes 1920x1080p60 project for Blu-ray with Bogart Gold Edition and Arabesk on a Casablanca-4 takes about 15-20 minutes :!: :P

I'd suggest sending the file to an external USB hard drive preferably a powered one but not totally necessary.

Then you can plug that into a PC/Laptop/Mac and drag that file onto the USB Thumb drive - you'll also know how big the file is then and therefore how big a thumb drive you'll need.

It may be an 'extra' step but in the long run, especially with the longer films, it saves time and the transfer from hard drive to stick doesn't take long.

When you buy external drives and chips for your camcorders you know how fast they are and data transfer rates etc. When people buy USB thumb drives they often go for the cheapest and you have no idea as to how good they are, how many chips are joined together inside (in a RAID configuration) or how fast are the data speeds that they support :(
