Hi Folks,

the following is no "Babel Fish" translation, it's real info

In Bogart 3.2a we only had 3 VGA resolutions
Now in 3.2c there are 5 now
VGA 800x600 (4:3)
VGA 1024x768 (4:3)
VGA 1280x1024 (5:4)
VGA 1400x1050 (4:3)
VGA 1440x900 (16:10)

Update S-4000Pro to Bogart 3.2c still shows "Installation cancelled" although
in settings menu it says Version 3.2c

Hi,

3.2c...same problems as the previous one...Unable to see any changes or fixes...

I' m using the 2 monitors mode also (DVI/VGA), but I never succeeded in reaching 16/9 aspect ratio resolutions on the VGA side...I tested 4 or maybe 5 different monitors (Acer, Dell, Philips, etc...), old ones, new ones...never succeeded...

Hmmm... I do not see any specific reason anymore for a 2-monitor setup.
In times when the CRT video monitors had been used it was a pleasure to look at the flicker-free VGA monitors for editing.
But today, since we all have modern DVI monitors, there is no flicker anymore. And we have perfect 16:9 aspect on the DVIs/HDMIs...
Last week I threw out my last CRT monitor that still was hooked to a Prestige and I replaced it with a 22" flatscreen from Samsung. That saves so much space :-)

So all the other professionals that are using two monitor mode set ups on other editing platforms must have it wrong?

I was not using two monitor mode for flicker.

I was using two monitor mode to not have the huge GUI superimposed over the video I was trying to edit.

I have reluctantly gone back to one monitor mode strictly due to the inability of MS to get two monitor mode right without all sorts of non-functionality and quirks.

No offense Volker and I know you don't work for MSDE any longer, but I have lost my patience with such glib answers from the company to cover their inability to fix bug problems and dysfunctionalities.

I do not want to cover anything. Not me. Not anymore ;-)

But I have 3 monitors here at my desk. And I am glad that there aren't four of them :-)
The GUI is so small and sometimes I must have the counter during playback in my direct field of view (to take notes for example), so I prefer a one monitor setup. When CBPaint ever should come back, I definetely will swich back to 2-monitors

I did not want to offent anyone. I just wanted to know why people are still using a two monitor setup. Just curious.

Volker,

We are a friendly group.

Expressing an opinion is not an offense, attack or anything close.

Neither is disagreeing with an opinion.

Way back when two monitor mode worked pretty much like it is supposed to I used it all the time as I preferred keeping the video screen clear of all distracting objects regardless of whether they were strangers or a GUI. ;)
