Favorite Features?

Post by ASHampton »

This applies to all Casablanca users no matter what editor or OS that you may use. What really does it for you? What are "in your own opinion" the greatest features about your editor? I am always asking customers these types of questions..I feel it is a wonderful way help a fellow user get "re-inspired" if that's even a word!

Thanks

We use ferrets to hunt wabbits, you pop the ferret down the hole and the rabbits leap out of other holes.

I still like my Cassi (s4000 pro with 3.1a) I have used Cassi since they first came out. Its easy to use and quick. The screens are uncluttered. The scene function I use lot. It quickly and reliably produces DVD's .( My wife has just called me, so I'll continue later)

The scene function, clipboard and scene/sample for lifting the audio get my vote

On the downside,we in the UK like a downside, recently bought Store n Share but had to upgrade from Bogart 2.4 to 2.5 in order for it to work however then had to upgrade from 2.5 to 2.7 because 2.5 gave me wide black bars top and bottom when taking stills for the stamps,2.4 didn't, installed 2.7 and now have narrow bars right and left side of screen,it is improving the bars are a lot narrower but might just go back to 2.4 and have no bars.

I really like the Scene function as well. it may sound simple...but...its the little everyday things, like how easy it is to create and insert new black scenes. i use other Apps to edit with as many of you do. sometimes i get really tired of TONS of drill down menus just to find things when they are right in front of your face on the Cassie.

Recently I discovered the Effects Stack for me. It saves so much time when you are adding the same effects again and again. One of my new favourite tools.

I like the Cassie to be my "toybox". It gives me something to play with....

On the downside, I had to face some massive data loss the other day. And I am still not sure who to blame for it... (hardware, software, myself, ...)

I like the scene, scene sample, and Quadcam. What is this effects stack? That sounds like something I could use. Bob...

Hi Bob

The effect stack is an IP effect where you ad several effects together and apply it as on IP effect rather than one at the time.
You have to have Smart edit 8 or higher I think.

My favorite software is Quadcam and Twixtor and I like the machine because it just works and not shuts down with out saving your last changes.
I find it simple to use even my wife is using my old Avio for editing our private stuff on.

Downsite is the grafics are to simple and the software is to expensive.

My favourite feature was Power Key - so many people had it but didn't/couldn't use it
Now some of it's features are present in our current OS and helps speed up some of the repetitive tasks.

Then, for me, it was Quad Cam - four camera shoot with just one operative, pretty cool - and so easy.

Now it's the Media manager, I can hear the boo's & hisses already.
The ability to throw so many formats at our little Cassies and get so many out is fantastic.
I know it's quirky and not exactly user friendly but I'm sure it will get there
