Here is the SCOOP from my experience: I am emphasizing the word MY.

AVCHD DVD can be used in ALL circumstances including Blu-ray. This results, in PlayStation 3, as an immediate playback upon insertion of the Blu-ray disc or a regular DVD.

AVCHD setting in ARABESK is a DATA DISC (that's what my PS3 reads it as) just like the MTS files in the PROJECT ARCHIVE area. I have to manually START the disc in PS3 as it is displayed with the words "DATA DISC."

In 1440X1920 I use NORMAL setting in ARABESK. Using "GOOD' is way too rendering intensive plus the quality in normal is excellent on MY HDTV using PS3.

AGAIN: This is my experience only in NTSC and using PS3 as the playback.

HOWEVER, the original issue is the rendering stopping. This is most likely- as Tim concurred-a corrupt file. This has happened to me in the past as well.

Check BOTH your first and last frame for a half field which sometimes occurs using auto-split in AVCHD/HDV. This usually is buffer related as the camera ON/OFF button is pressed during the buffer stage if using flash media. HDV is prone to GOP corruption and is another issue as itn relates to I-Frames. In any event, the rendering process is reaching a part of the SB which is corrupted and that corrupted frame is "advising" ARABESK that the rendering is complete. The unit is closing down POSSIBLY due to the timer being set to IDLE for a designated time in the main setting area.

AVCHD is for BD media.

AVCHD DVD is for DVD media.

This is because a DVD has to use a lower data rate for play back, slightly less quality, as the media is not designed (capable) of streaming video any quicker that would cause stuttering.

In PAL Bogart v3.2e and Arabesk v4.11 you can now produce a much conversion of your AVCHD film.

Thank you for your reply Lou Bruno.

Well i tried last night with a different settings and that didn't help either. System restarted after few hours of adding film. Tonight I have split my main scene of 80 minutes into two different scenes of 40 minutes, I will try to do one by one just to see if that will work. If adding one by one works than it's not corrupted scene. On another hand if the scene was corrupted than when i try to create DVD it wouldn't work either but it works. To me it looks like i can only add like 40 minutes and that is all that fits. If you don't mind telling me how long are your projects that you did on blu-ray? Also if i use AVCHD-DVD will i use any quallity or should i try making things work with the file?

Thank you

I agree your process of elimination should tell you whether it's a corrupt frame issue or not.

With that, you might try these with the least quality levels to save test time.

My current project is sixty minutes (59:12 to be exact) and I did this in both AVCHD and AVCHD(DVD) without issue using the render intensive Good quality level for both versions.

First 40 minutes worked, it was added fine to HD Arabesk. I will try doing the whole thing again now.

AVCHD DVD can be used in ALL circumstances including Blu-ray.
Sorry, I wasn't clear - this is, of course, true. The point I was trying to make is that when using DVD disks as media then AVCHD DVD should be selected because if you use the AVCHD setting then the data rate might be too high for playback. The AVCHD DVD setting is on or about 18Mbs and the AVCHD setting is on or about 24Mbs.
This results, in PlayStation 3, as an immediate playback upon insertion of the Blu-ray disc or a regular DVD.
I find the PS3 will (now) automatically on insertion playback any form of Arabesk AVCHD or AVCHD DVD disks.
(However creating a disk in Project Archive does mean I still have to navigate on the PS3 to play the file.)

Having said all that my first findings with Arabesk v4.11 were much better than previous attempts but I now find that playback (on the PS3) is very erratic.
Sometimes (the same BD disk) plays beautifully and then next time it's little short of garbage and then fine again.
I shall continue playing

Seeing you are from England, I am assuming you are using PAL? Perhaps, as usual, there are differences between PAL and NTSC. I was advised by MS GERMANY a few years back that the bit rate is 17Mps for AVCHD DVD.

It is interesting that the DATA DISC is 24 Mps or pure native AVCHD. That means the DATA DISC could be up-scaling if the original setting on the camera was lower?

How did you determine the bit rate?

Very interesting.

Yep, all PAL.

I just used the 'i' info button in the PS3 playback window.

It's quite interesting how it varies - AVCHD DVD goes between 14Mbs and 18Mbs.

Data BD and AVCHD both show between 22Mbs and 24Mbs . . .

First of all thank you all for your input regarding my matter. I have spent whole day yesterday trying to make a blu-ray disc and i had no luck succeeding. It is very frustrating because i am not sure anymore what seems to be a problem, discs, unit, software or corrupted file. I can make dvd disc using same file but not a blu-ray disc. With a very little support that i can find on MS web page regarding blu-ray and which disks to use. etc. i am looking to find alternative ways to make a blu-ray disc. Not sure what to do anymore. What is the point of having HD camera if i have to downgrade quality to watch my movie. Even the whole blu-ray idea it is so hard to test it at 12 dollars per disc and it takes forever to add movie just to find out that it is not working. Yesterday after successfully adding 3 minutes film to Arabesk HD i could only watch it using media manager. In any other blu-ray player it said invalid disc and this was by creating AVCHD DVD, trying to burn a Blu-ray i got message that creating a disc was not successful. I think that i need to back of this project for a few days before i go bankrupt spending money on a blu-ray discs.

Not sure why your blanks are costing so much.

That price is in the ballpark for rewritable Blu-ray as last week I ordered a Ritek BD-RE (rewritable) for 10.99 and a TDK BD-RE (rewritable) for $13.99, but I also ordered a ten pack of Verbatim to test for $31.19 delivered on Amazon.com which comes to less than $3.12 per blank.

I have not used the rewritable blanks yet, but the Verbatim blanks worked fine with an hour project and are playable in my Sony Blu-ray player.

I agree, $ 12.00 a disk is way too high. I use these - Aleratec BD-R Blu-ray 4X Recordable Disc (Spindle Pack of 10)
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/CDs-D ... 4294540391

So far they have worked great. I agree, if you are shooting in HD you should be able to watch it in HD. As far as playback goes and whether your BR player will work with your disks, that is a different question.
