Titles in S.E.

Did they ever solve the problem of the cutting off the top of a title in SE or was it one of those bugs they never got rid of.

Well, I am afraid that this bug won't be fixed in Smart Edit anymore since the development of Smart Edit has been stopped.

Naah, Volker, SE has one more incarnation, SE10, due out early fall. From the looks of what they have done for B4, some of it could come out in SE10, particularly the audio improvements.

No Smart Edit 10 has been released in Germany. And I think there are no plans for it while Bogart SE4 is available for 3 months.

Maybe you have better information...

Martin,
I work with titles a lot, a usual project has over 200 lines of titles

and have found that the BEST FINAL PRODUCT for titles in SmartEdit is to put the title in the middle of the 'BOX' or at least NEVER THE VERY TOP.....

By 'sizing the box' and pushing 'enter' before writing the title so it is really on the next line, the cut off problem is not a problem or not as bad.

I still do have occassional title cut off, but not as much as before doing this step.....

I was giving a talk on TITLES two years ago and pulled a sample of titles I have made, all with SmartEdit using the above step.

Unfortunately at this time I cannot access vimeo files at work but I will have a play around to see how the titles are cropped in relation to their position on screen.

just for your information:

Today I read a statement from a MacroSystem's Tech person pointing out that there won't be any further Smart Edit updates. And development has been stopped in favor of Bogart SE.

So Smart Edit 9.1 seems to be the last available Smart Edit version.

No we have a software (scansafe) that bans certain sites such as vimeo, youtube etc.
