grey screen at pause while editing

Post by jpbarthe »

Since updating to Bogart 4 on my s4100, when playing the footage it takes a second or two to get moving; and then when I hit pause, the screen goes grey so that i can no longer view the frame to edit. I can hit play and it will start again, no problem. But now i cannot do any editing. I tried playing from different projects in hd and not hd. Now each time whatever project footage (even older ones from archives, recorded in analog or from usb) i am playing in the edit mode, when paused, the screen goes grey. This is really frustrating. Didn't have this problem with version 3.

ok. but even if i now revert to bogart 3.6, i still have the problem, where before it wasn't doing this in 3.6.
it seems the more i upgrade the more problems i get. it makes me seriously think about the product's reliablility at this point.

Hello,

If you want to go back to 3.6 you need to delete 4.0. If you just activate 3.6 it will still have the bugs from 4 in it and won't solve your porblem until you delete 4 and get a clean 3.6. The pause going to grey has not hampered me from editing with Bogart 4. It's just a pain in the neck.

4. is a great piece of software, but there are some minor things like the pause going to grey that are getting corrected. It does many times more things for us, but there are little bumps in the road....on the way to perfection.

This is being corrected as is BlueBox and Candy Factory. For now, use your TRIM function to observe STILL FRAMES.

I know the function is there and with the latest versions of v3 and v4 it is not working correctly but what I don't understand is what people use it for ?

The only time I have used the Pause is if the telephone rings and I need the silence and then to be able to continue watching the footage from where I left off.

I'm not saying you shouldn't use it but I would like to know why you would as it has no real accuracy for editing and as Lou says (if it's individual frames you are looking for/at) you can use the Trim function.
